Twitter as Corporate Bumper Sticker — SEO, Organic Search, Unique Selling Propositions

Don’t worry, be Happy!

Bumper Sticker!  You heard me; Twitter is the new Bumper Sticker.  Yes, most people spam Twitter with Narcissistic updates on their every move (please, we simply are not that interested Ashton…); however,  Social Media is growing exponentially and Twitter seems here to stay.  (I cannot believe I’m writing this…have never been a Twitter fan).  So why am I writing this?

A) Twitter and other Social media have Google’s attention for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

B) Twitter is just like a Bumper Sticker!

C) You can get a great idea and Tweet it from your  Android, iPhone, or Blackberry hitting  Facebook and LinkedIn at the same time!

Do you care?  Yes, because you must have and know your USP or Unique Selling Proposition, the “elevator speech”.  Think of Twitter as your 30 second USP.  Or as a more traditional “give away” at a Trade Show.  What is your message?  Is it compelling?  Does it get attention?  Is it unique?  Twitter, by virtue of being 140 characters forces you to mince words.  I challenge you to think about it like you were going to create a Bumper Sticker…  Submit your version here for comment or feedback!

SEO, Search Engine Optimization, Local Organic Search, SERPs, are all terms every business owner should know.  Later we will discuss SEO in more detail (click here).  What is important to know is that Google, Yahoo, and Bing are all using Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin to determine Organic Search Engine Rankings.  Or who they should show on the first page of Organic results.  If you have no idea what I’m talking about you’d better give me a call!
